Our dentist, Dr. Jamie Choi, can repair a cavity or chipped tooth with composite dental fillings. Composite resin is superior to the older amalgam in that it is not only safer and more attractive but it also is effective at preventing future decay in the tooth, and if re-care is necessary, the situation can often be resolved by adding additional resin.

After you have left our office, you may feel some sensitivity or even pain as the anesthesia wears off. Medications such as TYLENOL® or Advil can be used to relieve your discomfort, and rinsing with a warm saltwater solution may also help. You should give yourself at least two hours following your appointment before eating anything, and if the area is still tender, you may find soft foods easier. You can resume brushing and flossing as soon as it as comfortable. Of course, you should continue to brush your teeth at twice a day and floss at least once a day, preferably before bed. Eating a balanced diet low in sugar and acids and increasing your intake of water can help prevent future tooth decay.
